Empty Shelf

He meant more than a friend to me.
I thought I was more than a friend to him, too.
We were like the same person, like a pod with only one pea
He said he just wanted to be friends and it was something I needed to get through.

I thought I was more than a friend to him, too.
I know him better than I know myself
He said he just wanted to be friends and it was something I needed to get through
I felt like a single book on an empty shelf.

I know him better than I know myself
He pretended it never happened and everything was fine
I felt like a single book on an empty shelf.
I wish he would’ve shown some sort of a sign

He pretended it never happened and everything was fine
I found out that I was being used
I wish he would’ve shown some sort of a sign
I felt like I was punched and there’s a permanent bruise

I found out that I was being used
We were like the same person, like a pod with only one pea
I felt like I was punched and there’s a permanent bruise
He meant more than a friend to me.
