Lost Blue Marble
on the Ugly Green Carpet

Oh, you were
Shiny and bright
like my childhood
and I lost you
Somewhere
on the green
sea of 12 year
old carpet
along with
multiple numbers
of baby barrettes
and safety pins.
They aren't meant
to be kept,
they're meant
to be greedily
swallowed by 12 year old
rugs. Like memories.
Still there just
packed away, unseen
forever, collecting
dust and cobwebs.
