   I wish I could

see in the dark

I would find lions

poised

for the kill

and hearts

waiting

to be destroyed

I would see

a falseness

in his smile,

depicting

a hidden personality

If I could

see in the dark

I would write

beautiful poetry

at midnight

and cry

at dawn

I wouldn't answer

the phone

knowing

it's my skeleton

I hate

girls who

wear black tights

with runs

flaunting

their talent

And if I could see

in the dark

I would know

who I am
