How long have I been in this car?

It seems like years,

Even though it's only been a few short

Hours.

I can't wait to get out of this

Car to see

You!

The sign says I'm only 15 miles from

You,

And as I pass each milepost

My heart races a little bit

Faster.

I can't wait to get out of this

Car to see

You!

We're only 10 miles apart now.

I can feel You near.

My hands are sweating,

But what am I nervous for?

I can't wait to get out of this

Car to see

You!

Five miles is all that is left

Keeping me from You.

The butterflies in my stomach

Won't give me a moment's rest,

All because,

I can't wait to get out of this

Car to see

You!

There is Your house up ahead,

Just a block down the road.

It's been a year since we

Saw each other last.

My heart is racing,

My hands are sweating and

The butterflies in my stomach are

Flying faster now.

I want to get out of this

Car to see

You!

But,

What if You don't want to see

Me?

I love how easy it is for me to relate to this poem. Not too abstract and not too simplistic. Marvelous work :)
