Tongue-tied hypocrite
Dreaming of egg salad sandwiches
Traveling the road to
Planet 9
Tapioca corn flake sky
Releases the acid rain
Of summers past
Graceful lightning dances
To the thunder lullaby
While my brain deep-fries
To a golden brown crisp
With a liquid center
Of dreams and ideals.
Mother earth-flower
Blooms and flourishes
It uproots and tainted earth
Showers upon the land
Of dreams from another time
The time when the moon was
God
And I its apostle.
Dream of fiery summers
When the ambrosia was sweet
And Cupid was here
Parallel world with celestial jargon
Supple oceans of nectar
Empty out of my
Jaded looking-glass eyes.
Una said she'd come
And she did
Adorned with bells that
Sang me into a misty slumber
And when I'd awaken
We'd sip on iced oolong
And talk of how we missed the sea.
