   Early Autumn

The weather teases us

Hurricanes threaten our door

And when we go to greet them, they run away

Summer pretends to linger

Then steals away leaving a killing frost

At noon the sun seems powerful

Yet it seeks its rest earlier each day

Summer flowers

Adorn the harvest table

Clean crisp air wafts its message

Of a new season

Fresh, strong

Bringing its own renewal of life

Early Autumn
