Oh river of mine
Where do you begin?
With your sparkling waters
And glistening bright sky
Waters rippling silently
Without any sound.

Oh River of mine
Where do you end?
This long pathway
Leading towards my heart
Can only be captured in this single moment.

Oh River of mine
I am at the center of your being.
I am yours
I surrender
For you are my home
And my deathbed
Take me into your murky waters.

Oh River of mine
Let me float
Whether upstream or down,
I do not care
As long as I die,
Within this river of mine.

I wrote this while attending the Marist Writing Program, and it was published on the website; for we did a workshop dedicated to the Hudson River.
