"I am Happy to The Point of Fear" -Ralph Waldo Emmerson

A dare, a simple joke,
A prod, a playful poke,
I dont want to back down,
But theres the fear, I dont want to drown,

For fear of demise
I shy from the abis,
A hand forced on my shoulder
I wasnt expecting this,

Stricken, I gasp,
Taking in all but the air,
there is a burning in my eyes,
And something pulling my hair,

My foot is entangled
In a mess of seaweed,
My heart is exploding,
Angered by the deed

As I struggled against the containment,
A thought tangled in my memory,
What is it about the darkness and fear,
the desperation that is YOU to me...?

That dark abis that traps me,
that breath I try to take,
The burning in my eyes,
Pulling until I break

This thought creates a force,
Deep down in my heart,
I held my breath just long enough,
To tear the seaweed apart,

I burst up from the water,
Gasp for air, and scream,
A friend pulls me from the depths...
that dive was deeper then it would have seemed...

I am the author of my own life... unfortunately I'm writing in pen and can't erase my mistakes.

WOW! This is soo good! I love how you used all of the comparisons to express what you were thinking! Truly incredible!
