Unwanted Nightmares

Nothing more
nothing less
the scars you see
as she takes off her dress
Pain and lies
she screams and cries
wondering how
this could happen
She grabs the knife
to take her own life
she can't think or breathe
She loves him
God, she loves him
with her shattered heart
of a million pieces
But he's done with her,
he wants something new
She's on the floor
with lips turned blue
and the whole time
he was standing outside the door
Practicing until he got it right
he's ready to tell her
he wants her back tonight
and to say "Baby, I love you."
