Talked even though you looked
as if you wished to unearth
the silence that once brooked
the distance between your eyes and mine
Sometimes it's like our friendship
is walking on frayed twine
And even though you took my heart
and tore it with your teeth,
you tell me I should put my blade
back inside its sheath

I completely identify with this, as does everyone with that one person they have unfinished business with. It's not every day where a poem that actually has a rhyme/meter actually speaks to me on more than a superficial level. Brava, very well done.
