Eighty Six and Counting

Drive the other way
We can forget about this place
With our eyes shut
And the scars gone
We can breate in the salty air
As if we're not changing
With our eyes shut
And the scars gone
We can finally fall asleep
As forget to wake up
Now let's prove we'll hit the brakes
Without shifting into reverse
Because we don't have to take anything back
Learn to steer for yourself
I'm doing the same thing
With our lungs cleared
And our hearts healed
We can mingle with the current
As if we're not broken
With out lungs cleared
And our hearts healed
We can go back to our old ways
And pretend they're healthy
So now let's prove we'll hit the brakes
Without shifting into reverse
Because we'll never have to take anything back
And there's no way they can intervene
It's as if we've never seen
A glimpse of freedom in our path
But freedom sometimes has its wrath
Losing ourselves
Too deep to delve
Why couldn't we see
That we're far from free
Ignoring the pain
Won't stop the rain
We can't stray from this road
The chains won't give
We have to live
Forget our doubt
We will get out
Leave all concern
We live to yearn
Break down the walls
Explore the halls
And I will do the same
We both know what depression's like
We both know what regression's like
Let's throw away all of our fear
And end our never ending tears
Freedom will wait for us
