Does an astronaut really ever leave?
While his ship,
May shatter,
Its way,
Off the launch pad,
through the hemisphere,
And break earths gravity,
He is still tied to our planet
While we may loose,
all radio contact,
In a heated,
Panicked,
Split-second,
He is still tied to our planet
While he may drift,
Floating away,
Helplessly,
in his tin can,
He is still tied to our planet
And even if,
He decides to plot a new course,
Journey to a new planet,
Experience a new state of being,
He is still tethered to our planet,
Because after all,
It is our yearbooks,
Our mantles,
Our minds,
That proudly hold his picture.
