What is love?
Ugh.
It’s the sort of thing
That makes your toes curl up
inside your shoes.
It’s the sort of thing
that is so hard to create
and so easy to lose.
It’s the reaction
That causes your heart to soar
and pound
And makes you want to crawl beneath a rock
Under ground.
It’s the sappy song
you sing on the radio.
It’s the reason you spend hours on your looks
But don’t want people to know.
It’s responsible
for butterflies and tears
For fleeting glances
and lipstick smears.
It’s a package deal
of pain and gain,
Of sorrow and joy,
Of give and take.
It symbolizes change
and loss.
But the price, I hear,
is worth the cost.
