-The brightest future will always be based on the forgotten past

Mama, we don't got each other
So I'd run for cover, run for cover
'Cause you'll try to come after me
But I feel better knowing it's all over
And I'm free to be who I wanna be
You make something out of nothing
When you make something turn to nothing
But I make a lot of grins
I know it's a sin
A new life, it's time to begin

'Cause you're just a useless memory
'Cause everything has changed
I'm on top of the world
Watching the memories fade away
'Cause I'm forgetting you
Forgetting you

The memories in my mind
Are soon to be over
You used to be nice
But you've blown your cover
And the mother I new
Well, I don't even know her
The bad is thrown away
And all my demons are kept at bay

And you're just a useless memory
'Cause everything has changed
I'm on top of the world
Watching the memories fade away
'Cause I'm forgetting you
Forgetting you

I wasn't able to say this to you
So I'm letting the truth sing out
After all I've been through
It's better that you're gone

'Cause you're just a useless memory
'Cause everything has changed
I'm on top of the world
Watching the memories fade away
'Cause I'm forgetting you
Forgetting you
I'm through
Now I'm forgetting you
Forgetting you

This song is about having to go through a miserable relationship with my mother. But after I get out of it, it's always better to think of the good memories. And not let the bad memories bring me down.

The best thing you can do is to forgive and move on. Other wise you will never be happy.

Cheyenne, I wish I could heal all the hurts and erase all the bad memories. Keep writing, fulfill your own destiny, and most of all make yourself happy!

I'm sorry you've had such a hard time with your mom. Writing is the best way to get it out and move on. I applaud you.
