Blank Pages

Blank pages
Empty spaces
All there’s left to do is wait
Until the dawn of a new day
A new, less painful day
Blank spaces
Tear-stained faces
Waiting, waiting, always waiting
Maybe we can all escape one day
Blackened eyes and muffled cries
So many that our ears are mute
Fake smiles and flat out lies
Utter grief
