I have an unexpected drowsiness.
My leg still hurts, but I remain silent.
They’re shaving my leg and left me aweless.
Thinking I’m here for shots, I now resent.
Maybe when I get home, Sammy will play.
Unless Sammy’s disease came back, oh boy.
But I’ll have dinner without a delay.
I might even give back Sammy’s shoo toy!
Moms saying something I don’t understand.
Mothers voice sounds all muffled and unclear.
Vet walked in. On my back, I felt a hand.
For some odd reason, I felt very queer.
Looked up at Mom, she cried. I’m not sure why.
Puzzling thoughts: am I going to die?
