Eyes are sewn,
Mouth is too.
Ears are sewn beyond repair.
They speak in my heart,
But broken it cannot hear.
I want it to be sewn again,
To last another year.
Another tear, another scream
Another plea for help.
But nothing can escape my mouth.
You’ve sewn it all to hell.
My eyes are shut,
I cannot see,
But I know it’s you I feel.
I cannot say a word to you.
And this pain – I cannot deal.
This tearing pain inside myself,
Will never go away.
I just wanted to forget
What happened on that day.
But everywhere I see your face,
I feel your hands,
Sewing my mouth and eyes and ears.
So I will not speak again,
I will not cry again,
And so I cannot hear myself breaking apart again.
