Your Eyes
I lie in bed with a dimpled smile,
Filled with childish wishes and dreams.
I have found that it’s been there for awhile,
Since I’ve gotten my first crush it seems.
I flip over on my side
And remember earlier that day when I first saw you.
I feel that jump inside
And think hard on what I should do.
Sleepily, I sigh
And let myself fall to the image of your eyes.
I lie in bed with a dreamy smile,
Filled with teenage hopes and anticipations.
I have found it’s been there for awhile,
Since our last brief confrontation.
I flip over on my side
And remember earlier that day when you passed by me.
I feel that jump inside
And remember the small smile you gave me.
Sleepily, I sigh
And let myself fall to the image of your eyes.
I lie in bed with a breathless smile,
Filled with blissful thoughts of the memory.
I have found it’s been for awhile,
Since the first time you kissed me.
I flip over on my side
And remember earlier that day how your head slightly dips.
I feel that jump inside
And remember the tingle you left on my lips.
Sleepily, I sigh
And let myself fall to the image of your eyes.
I lie in bed with a permanent smile,
Filled with excitement that just grows and grows.
I have found it’s been there for awhile,
Since you gave me a ring and proposed.
I flip over on my side
And remember earlier that day when you got down on one knee.
I feel that jump inside
And remember how you whispered “Will you marry me?”
Sleepily, I sigh
And let myself fall to the image of your eyes.
I lie in bed with a matured smile,
Filled with beautiful memories of our past.
I have found it’s been there for awhile,
Since the first time I knew our love would last.
I flip over on my side
And remember the first day I saw you.
I feel that jump inside,
Ohh, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
Sleepily, I sigh
And still let myself fall when I meet your eyes.
