If I were a bird
So beautiful and free
I would soar above the clouds
And let my dreams set me free
I would think of no one
No one but myself
I would think of all
The ways I had felt
The ways I had felt
As I sit here today
And think of what
I would say
If I were a bird
A soulful bird
With tears in my eyes
As I slowly start to die.

The author's comments:
This is one of my favourite pieces that I've written, because it always makes the reader wonder what the soulful bird is, a wandering soul, a lost bird, a human declaring their last words, but really, in this piece there is no right or wrong.
