Forget Me Not MAG

By Anonymous

     once in a while
brought on by the success of everyone else
the everything's okay of everyone else
i wonder if any of us will matter
after time has done its damage
will any of us be remembered
for more than a few once-in-a-whiles
will our first love be first thought of
every dangerous good morning
will i consciously care
about the strangers down the hall
when i'm kissing my wife and kids good night
and then comes the end
of my poem (that's more than just words)
we all live under the same moon
we all ignore our favorite sunsets
yet we ask the same we don't do for others:
forget-me-not
in the middle of the night
we don't call up our own friends
and are forced to forget them in the morning
i dream of losing contact
only because it's expected natural
why does life end
after one institution
why do we semi-adults
walk the halls alone
and forget to realize that
once in a 10-year moon isn't enough
for revival
