sunlight even and unbroken
flowing and setting
on the fields turned golden
warmed by the summer heat

blue sky wide
big that brings
me awe

you always said
awe was a hollow
feeling of pure
and unmarked
beauty

we were running
free then
the fields were home
a sanctuary that
seemed set aside
just for us

goodbye seemed too sad
at the time I didn't
say it but now
I wish I had

so long ago it's
just a memory
of a memory
we were dreaming
then and only
now do I
awaken
to realize
I wish I could
keep dreaming
