I am tired of today,
A day when the skies are gray
And heavy burdens block the way.
When the clouds rain down
And my soul wears a frown.
I am tired of today.

I cannot wait to sleep.
My spirits have sunk far and steep.
I'm in a hole down really deep.
I am so tired, yet I cannot rest.
I must work even against my behest.
I cannot wait to sleep.

Should I stop?
Stop the climbing and head for a drop?
Stop the washing and put down the mop?
Should I sit down and just relax?
Just give up and take a nap?
That I will not.
