Chains are thick and tight
Around my wrists
Fetters
Holding me down
Pulling me under
Water
Slipping through my soul
Passing by my heart
Drowning
Suffocating
My fetters tighten further
Like seaweed
Holding me close
Pulling me close
Salt water
Slipping down my throat
Like tears
My soul is crying, screaming
You’re telling me you’re praying
But my Faith has wandered off
Getting lost somewhere between
Hope and Joy
Yeah, I am blind
And deaf and dumb
Imprisoned
By this black
This cloud which hangs above my head
Around my neck
It hangs me
Chokes me and it shames me
Makes me feel insane
And yet I am so
These fetters and these chains
They mock and they berate me
My lips tremble with the truth
The poisonous truth
Your ears prick
Curiosity
And the poison spills
A gift to me
Truth revealed to you
And now
There’s another man to hate me
Yeah these fetters and chains
Kill me
Slowly
Choke me
Torturously
So
I
Say
