Bittersweet symphony
capture my soul
pull from the void
of all things unknown
reveal to me nothing
wrap me in all
laugh at me lightly
watching me fall
Don’t grab my hand
that’s your mistake
the notes have grown sour
tasting more like fermented grape
how can i last here
entangled in this song
floating to the surface
a face appears to me
a tingling in my chest
a flutter of my heart
a weakness shakes my limbs
a short dance begins
one waltz for the lady
one for the man
who takes my hand
i spin across the floor
o don’t let go!
The music dissipates
i feel nothing but silence fill the void
I sit for a moment and it begins again
the sensation pulls from behind my navel
but a firm grip hold me here
"it is not time"
i moan with piano volume
a dissonant chord
another spin
then silence...
the man has left the music at an end
nothing left to torture me
only memories from this bittersweet symphony.
