Dispassionate, I top the cliff.
Dispassionate, I jump the ship.
Momentous occasions I’m assured,
But I can’t be bothered to feel a thing.
I’m on autopilot, cruising the sea with my destination set,
And thus not enjoying the journey.
Where’s the mystery, where’s the surprise, Life?
Life has become everything I expect and as a result,
Nothing I care for.
Surprise me.
Show me something new.
Life, I beseech you, make yourself worth living.

The author's comments:
I wrote this at a time when I was just coasting through life, endlessly bored. The only thing that really seemed to excite me was driving fast. It was absurd, that I could feel so unchallenged, but I did. But now, I'm doing great and loving life.
