yesterday she left for that little place aways over there

yesterday she left for that little place aways over there
she went back to France
took her accent and culture with her
I'll miss her
you'll miss her
it's nothing new
people come and people go
mostly they just go

yesterday you said "she's gone"
and I said "it's sad"
it is, but then its not
she was happy to go
but sad to leave
she missed her home, her friends,
her family
we barely knew her
but knew her enough
to say "i miss her"

it's nothing new
people come and people go
but mostly they go
and take everything with them

yesterday i said "i miss her"
today i think "i miss her"
tomorrow i might think

"i miss her"

I like this one, especially the first and last stanzas. I actually think it would be much more powerful if you cut out the rest.
