Not a Care
I look out the window
at the downpour.
The sun hasn't risen
cuz it's quarter to four.
Sleep has evaded
my wandering head.
So wide awake
I get out of bed.
I went down the stairs
and unlocked the door.
I stepped outside
at half-past four.
I spin around.
I feel so free.
I let the rain wash away
all my worries.
I start singing
my heart out.
I sing it to the world.
I sing it out loud.
That I will not be
the last one there.
I will sing to the world
that I do not care.
I figure this out
as I dance in the rain.
Yet it's still dark out
at half-past eight.
