So many words went unspoken
So many stories went untold
So many songs went unsung
So many dances weren’t danced
So many things were left unsaid

Yet, you stand there trying to tell me goodbye
Telling me it’s for the best
That you never really loved me
But how could you when you don’t even know me
You never listened so you’ll never learn
I’ll hideaway the pain
And you won’t see the tears

Now, you’re trying to tell me nothing’s changed
We’re still friends
But you stopped talking to me so long ago
And I guess I have to say that it’s my fault
You never listened before so
Why would you now

Sometimes when you pass me
I wonder what you’re thinking
Are you thinking of the girl you hurt so long ago?
Will you ever listen to the girl, soon to be a woman?
Yes I’m stronger now
And I’ve changed so much
But will you ever know
Will you ever listen?

I hope you understand
This plea, this cry, this prayer
I hope someday
You’ll be happy
I hope someday
You’ll be able to listen

You’re trying to tell me goodbye
That you never really could love me
But how could you when you didn’t even know me
You never listened so you’ll never learned

So many words went unspoken
So many stories went untold
So many songs went unsung
So many dances weren’t danced
So many thing were left unsaid
I hope someday
You’ll be able to listen
