you know, standing there in that dress,
sweat collecting in little pools in my bra,
i felt beautiful.
and the makeup and the smiles covered up so much
i wasn't about to ruin this for the lucky bride.
so i smiled at them, and even talked a little
when they asked me questions.
i kept it together.
but standing there in the shade, all i wanted was out.
out of the car,
out of the shoes,
out of the dress,
and out of my skin.
sweat collecting in little pools in my bra,
i felt beautiful.
and the makeup and the smiles covered up so much
i wasn't about to ruin this for the lucky bride.
so i smiled at them, and even talked a little
when they asked me questions.
i kept it together.
but standing there in the shade, all i wanted was out.
out of the car,
out of the shoes,
out of the dress,
and out of my skin.
