The shine of the window’s glass
As the camera’s flash is released
Zooming in on nature
Outside the house’s walls
Trying to capture a picture of memory.

The charcoal skies
With the grayed clouds

Fighting to be unleashed
The bustling winds
Swaying the limbs
The vibrant pink cherry petals
Dancing in its symphony.

The early morning
All children elapse in their slumber
The cup warmed in my hands
Coffee-colored caffeine to initiate my day
The air still, around the unmoving silk
Wrinkled from the night.

The patter of feel
Sounding on the tile floor
Dragging to instruction by eyes filled of sleep
Following a prior path
That I traveled before
Coming up behind me
Slinking arms around my waist
“Good morning beautiful,” he whispered
A smiled glance across my shoulder
Reveals his devilish grin
As he brushed lips against my own
And gently pulls his head
“Come back to bed my love.”
