Without your firm demand
I gently held your hand
And just like grains of sand
We fell through time together.

On your shoulder I did sit
Deadly afraid of that pit
Without a single candle lit
We survived the storm together.

A leering fork in the road
On my shoulders a heavy load
Why you came not with me is a code
We no longer travel together.

Just another casualty.
It's sad but true.
And even dead I'm still ahead
of most of you.

Some of the phrasing was a little difficult, but I really liked all your ideas. Your stuff is really good :]
