Waiting

Late night walks to the park,
We ignored the fact that it was dark,
On my heart you had left a mark,
And now I’m left to wait.

You sang things to me I never thought you would,
You said things I never thought you could,
Now to get over you? Maybe I should,
And now I’m left to wait.

Why you stayed with me for so long, I never knew why,
Leaving you for a new place, made us cry,
Without you I didn’t know how I’d get by,
And now I’m left to wait.

Always being together in the past made us stronger,
Every time I’m with you, I wish it lasted longer,
Without you my strength lasts no longer,
And now I’m left to wait.

I don’t know who I’m waiting for,
There’s no one that will ever mean more,
You were the one my heart skipped beats for,
No longer will I wait.

I have finally found someone new,
Someone who helped me get over you,
Someone who treats me just like you used to,
No longer will I wait.

You will always be in my heart,
Just like you were from the start,
It helps that we are far apart,
No longer will I wait.

I now am done with all that bull,
You have to stop trying to pull,
Me back to you, my heart is full,
No longer will I wait.
