be me

i can't be who you want me to be
my life should be my own
and all i ever wanted was
to be who i am
to sing my own songs
to just be my own strong
so look to me
see a person
not something to dress and control
and later on down the road
all look back and say
i lived my own way
i want a chance to say i was lucky
a chance to be what ive always dreamed
i want this down to turn up
i just want to be me
