I asked the Rainbow
Today I asked the rainbow
How she lived in harmony.
She said it was simple, smart and free.
When a friend is getting a little red in the face
Ask what’s wrong and listen
Offer advice and give a smile that glistens
That’s how to live in harmony.
If you cant peel that orange
Go ahead, ask for help
We all need it every once in a while.
When your sister is looking a little yellow
Tell her to sit and rest and tell others not to bellow.
Put up her feet and lean her back.
Take up her chores and extra slack.
If you are feeling green
Don’t turn mean
Think of the things you have
Like food, a home, a bath
When your friend is looking blue
You know what you gotta do
Color a picture, write a card
Or simply tell her something from the heart
When your mothers getting purple
Remain calm and don’t get mad
You don’t know what her day was like
So give her a hug, don’t make her feel bad
Today I asked the rainbow
How she lived in harmony.
And I found it was simple, smart and free.
