The Island of No Return

Somehow I drifted to an island, the population consist of one.
The lonliness hurts like a thousand stabbing knives. Yet all the pain is sickening and tortuous it has been awkwardly comforting. I've been here to long.
I see off the shore where I should be and think to myself, how did I get here. Its not a long way but I forgot how to swim and I don't have what I need to make a boat.
