Faces flushed red,
Knuckles turned white
Walking away from
One another
One is triumphant
Yet the other is beaten
Chests heave on them both
And from both tears will fall
Although the battle has been won
It is an empty victory
The cost of war is larger
Than the feeling of sheer power.
There was no good over bad,
No right and wrong,
No rightful winner,
There was only loss.
