CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

Dad…
love me for who I am,
not who you wish I still was.
I’m not a baby—
not a princess—
anymore.
Sorry to disappoint.

You said it yourself Dad:
you don’t know who I am anymore.
So don’t waste your breath,
and try to resurrect the past.
It’s not going to walk.

Cool off—
chill out—
and breathe.
Try to discover the now—
before its too late—
before I’m gone!

Quit living in the past, in your memories,
and love me as I am now…
before there’s no chance left.
