Cannibal fruitflies –
Uncommonly sincere.
They think your thoughts before you;
It's like looking in a mirror.
Cannibal fruitflies –
You might think they are a pest.
You swat at their indecencies
To rid them of their nest.
Cannibal fruitflies –
No longer buzz their song.
Yet when you look around you,
The whole world is gone.
