I can’t write
Slam poetry.

It just isn’t my
Style,
Fluid, soft, and gentle.

I can’t write
Slam poetry.

To me
Poetry is not supposed to be
Yelled and screamed,
Harsh, loud, and overwhelming.

I can’t write
Slam poetry.

Poetry is supposed to
Flow gently
Out of our lips,
Like water trickles through a stream,
Calm, smooth, and welcoming.

I can’t write
Slam poetry.

To me
Poetry is supposed to
Cleanse the daily emotions
From the minds of others
And allow them to feel
Your emotions.

Yelling and screaming at people
Only adds to their own emotions
It does not cleanse their minds,
It only bombards them
With new thoughts
When they haven’t settled
Their old ones.

To me
Slam poetry
Is not real poetry.

I can’t write
Slam poetry.
