Searching
I looked for you and called your name
But you never came
Searching for you like a fool knowing
You wouldn’t come or show
I thought you at least cared to call but now
I know I searched for you high and wide
But knowing I wouldn’t find you
Looking up at every major event not
To see you there and asking
Where could you be?
When I was young I wondered
Could it be the one I seek was running from me?
Now I’m older and I realize
I was just not what you wanted
I’m becoming a man
Never to do as you did and leave my son
