In the Water
Tumbling through the current I struggle to break the surface. Pieces of me are being left behind in the water. Then, if by some miracle, a young girl pulls me out of the water. My surface is broken and rough, but she doesn’t care. She carefully observes my surface and softly says, “Wow, cool rock.”
