Grandpa
I woke up this morning
On a sturdy cane
I could have fallen today.
I ate warm cookies baked by Grandma
And her amazing tapioca
I could have fallen today.
It took me about twenty
Minutes to get out of bed
All day I will wipe
My spectacles clean.
At dusk I rock on
My rocking chair
I could have fallen today
Grandma and I go out to eat
At a table while playing chess
I could have tripped
And fallen today.
I slept at nap time
In a bed with Grandma
Tomorrow I will play
Lacrosse with Grandma
And all our friends.
I’ll probably fall tomorrow.
