Open Meadow
Vast, Unnoticed, Uncivilized
Silent, yet Uncomprehending
Winds pick up from the north,
Sunflowers and Black-eyed Susan’s sway back and forth,
Patiently waiting for something extraordinary to happen,
The hot, yet blinding sun shines down,
Upon these works of art
Almost perfect, but fine detail
Clouds up above, as dark as the midnight ocean
Roll upon these definite works of art,
Giving life, and definition
Leaving a rainbow, polished by the nightfall sunset
