I wish that you would step back from that ledge my friend
Don’t think tomorrow's gonna feel a lot like today
You can put the past away
But if you don’t want to see me again, I’ll understand
This is a life worth living in

Sometimes things don’t end the way they start
Tears won’t always mend your broken heart
There’s so much left you never got to do
Things left to say
A world left to see
This is a life worth living in

Your friends have all left you but I’m still here
Opening up another ear
I’ll help you throw the past away
This is a life I’ll keep you living in

Having you leave’s not an option for me
You’re as essential as the air I breathe
This is a life, a past, a future, and a now
And it’s all worth living in
So won’t you please step back from that ledge my friend
It will be all worth it in the end

If you think on the day you die, your gonna start again
Then you’ve already lost it all
You’ve already made that fall

I’m just wishing that you’ll step back from that ledge my friend
And see the life that’s worth living in

This is a Derived Poem based on the song Jumper by Third Eye Blind. The song always spoke to me because I think it is powerful that just one person can be all it takes to help someone realize how special and important their life really is.
