He challenged himself to a greater extend
he was ready to be a man with no time to pretend
God be with him, don't leave him alone
help him be strong and bring him back home
if there's fear on his mind, help it go away
give him motivation and strength each passing day
fighting for his country and a better gain
he put his life at risk along with his family's pain
for our country's freedom and better rights
he sacrificed both his days and nights
he traded his enjoyment and fun
for the weapons of riffles and guns
even though he left with broken hearts torn
we will always be proud of our man in uniform
leaving our hearts both empty and colder
