Starving
in this technological age for a feeling.

A human touch
surmounts the wasteland of all that is artificial.

I climb the trash heaps
to breathe in the clean air that floats atop our cities.

Statues soon to be dripping with formaldehyde brush past me on the sidewalk,
surely some with good intentions.

Others seek to wreak havoc,
Disrupt the ignorant standard we pretend maintains global homeostasis.

We are at war with the world,
but we ignore it’s plea for a truce.

Our ignorance calls for the pardon of not one survivor.
I contemplate the arduous life of the city dweller.
