Words in the wind

Upon the tip of a mountain so tall,
If, per say, a man should fall,
At the very bottom he will end,
And so did the letter I intended to send.
Nimble and swift, it was carried away,
By wind that follows a path so astray,
Oh, caught in the wind were so many things,
Flew so fast, as though they had wings.
Behind me my coat billowed like a cape,
But feet wouldn’t budge, as though stuck with tape,
Still kept running, on and on,
Until I realized my letter was long gone.
For long I sat on a rock and cried,
And even after my tears had dried,
I thought of my letter, gone and mislaid,
Close to my heart, great price I had paid.
All of a sudden, wind gave me a nudge,
And guess what fell into my bowl of fudge?
Lo and behold, it was my letter,
Looked like my day had turned for the better.
Yet, as I examined my words of ink,
I noticed the wind give me a wily wink.
