Freedom

I live in a small town where over half of the working class are farmers, local football games are the social events of the year, and Christianity is ruled above all else. Any other religion in our small, rural county is frowned upon. Needless to say, there are many diverse religions represented (and shunned) in our county. I was raised as a devout Christian who attended Catholic Church every Sunday. Now that I am a teenager, I have my own take on religion. I don't necessarily not believe in Christianity, but I don't believe it is the only answer. I am tolerant of all religions and respect each and every one. I just wish more people could do the same. After all, dismissing everyone elses' faith and dooming them to eternal damnation for it isn't very virtuous..even in a small county where the majority rules.

In my opinion, religion is a freedom and should be treated like one. I hope some day to open the world's eyes to that simple beauty.
