I Am Offended

I am offended.

I can't pray in public

I can't sing "Joy to the World"

I can't set up a nativity scene in my front yard-

I'm "Shoving Religion" down "people's" throats.

I am offended.

Everyone speaks during the "moment of silence"

No one says the Pledge of Allegiance.

It's ok to drop the "F" bomb

But if I bring my Bible to school I'M crazy?

I am offended

Atheists can publicly denounce GOD ALMIGHTY

Catholics can cross themselves

But BAPTISTS are fanatics?

I am offended.

Liars have senate seats

Fools represent our nation

PRAYER was taken out of school

and no one has protested YET?

STAND UP, AMERICA!!

Technically catholics are not allowed to cross themselves and or pray in public school. We'd get weird looks just as much as you if you were praying or if a person from another religion was praying. I get what your saying but try and see it the other way for a second. How would people from other religions feel if you controlled the government or the schools? Probably cheated just like you feel right now. I can't really say much about the other stuff you mentioned in this piece but I can say that... (more »)

Unless you go to a theistic school, prayer shouldn't be allowed.  Honesly, you have the Pledge of Allegence.  If Atheists don't say it, WE look like the bad guys, like we're going to conspire against the country, or something.  And there are a lot of "Christians" who cuss, just saying.  The political referrals, what do those have to do with Christianity?  It's not against the law to put up a Navity Scene.  Go for it, if you wish.  Furthermore, don't challenge t... Actually, legally you can do any of these things, so I really don't know what you are complaining about. A public school legally allows students to bring bibles to school, at our school they are brought in all the time. Students pray before lunch. The only thing not allowed in schools is that teachers CANNOT FORCE you to pray. That's it. No one can FORCE you or lead a prayer. I think you need to study up and wake up to realityland here. Not to butt in on a conversation, but where does the author say she wants to oppress people? I agree that most of the things she says actually ARE allowed, but there are some good points, like everyone talking during the moment of silence. The moment of silence isn't just for prayer, it's respect for the soldiers that have died for this country, so it's very wrong on secular and religious standpoints to talk during it. Also, bigotry is just thinking you're better than someone. You think yo... (more »)
