Grandma

I
Her attracting sweet smell
Curly white hair rests on her shoulders
Her beautiful grey eyes
Like those darken skies on a rainy day
Worned, old, wrinkley hands of a hard worker
As tall as the shortest palm tree
Toughest women you'll ever meet
Worked her whole life for her kids
Although there was many obstacles
Drunken, abusive husband and crazy work schedules

II
Years later she migrated to the U.S
Stayed with my mother, my brothers, and I
Raised us like her own
While her daughter worked to bring food to the table
You would always find her in the kitchen
She loved to cook
Started to grow old
Sicknesses and disorders started
The worst of them all...
CANCER

6:00 a.m she wouldn't open her beautiful grey eyes
Her chest didn't rise up to show that she was breathing
She passed...
Sky was dark grey and it was raining as if it was a reflection of her eyes
Her sweet smell had disappeared
With just a slight touch on her hand you felt how cold she was
Tears running down everyones face like rivers
Hearts broken as if they were hammered down to pieces
It was unbelievable... she was gone....
R.I.P

We love and miss you Grandma

I was raised by my grandmother from age 5-13. She was the most inspiring person I knew.
